My name is Monica and I am a natural light on location professional child photographer located in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth area. I specialize in photographing newborns, children, young families, and seniors.
Photography has not only been a life long passion but it’s what I live and breathe for. I fell in love with photography at the age of 8 when I bought my first film camera. I started actively pursuing it in high school. After I got married before I had my two boys, my husband encouraged me to continue pursuing it. I read everything I could get my hands on, took some college courses, and got mentored from the best in the business.
When I am not shooting, I am a wife and mom to two boys. Both of my boys keep me on my toes.

Where did you learn about photography?
Some of what I learned is self taught as with any photographer. No teacher can tell you your style, that develops on its own. I also took a college course (before I became a mom) to make sure I understood the mechanics of photography.
What kind of gear do you use?
I use all canon gear. I shoot with the Canon 5D Mark II and edit with photoshop CS4.
What mode do you shoot in?
Manual. Always.
Any mom that buys a camera these days is a photographer. What sets you apart?
This is true. The photography market is flooded with many “photographers” that you can choose from. I hope people can tell when they see my work that I’m not just another mom with a camera. I started pursuing photography when I was in high school. And have studied hard to learn this craft.
